Ford plans to produce 600000 electric vehicles in 2023, double the original plan

       According to foreign media reports on November 19, Ford is investing heavily in electric vehicles and plans to increase the output to 600000 vehicles in 2023, double the original plan.

       As Jim Farley, CEO of Ford Motor Company, disclosed to the media that Ford plans to double the output of electric vehicles in 2023, they will become the second largest electric vehicle manufacturer in the United States, second only to Tesla.

       Ford plans to produce 600000 electric vehicles, and its production capacity will be distributed among the three launched electric vehicles of Mustang mach-e, F-150 lightning and E-transit. The plant in Tennessee is also expected to be put into operation.

       Farley told foreign media that the demand for electric vehicles far exceeded their expectations. For a large company trying to remain agile, this is a new experience. They need to plan production capacity in a different way from the past.

       With many manufacturers investing heavily in electric vehicles, it is unclear whether Ford can become the second largest electric vehicle manufacturer in the United States after Tesla in 2023, but 600000 vehicles can not surpass Tesla in 2023.

       According to Tesla's quarterly output and delivery, the company produced 624500 electric vehicles in the first three quarters. With the production of Berlin super factory and Texas super factory, Tesla's production capacity will be further improved, and the production capacity of Shanghai Super factory and Fremont factory will continue to grow. Therefore, Tesla's electric vehicle production in 2023 will be far more than 600000.
