Requirement 1: prevent errors.
Error prevention is the first requirement. Especially on the centralized acquisition board, there are many sampling connectors. In order to avoid human insertion errors, it is necessary to carry out fool proof design. Both structural prevention and color prevention shall be met at the same time.
For example, select connectors with different pin numbers to prevent bad PIN numbers or the same pin numbers to prevent bad structure in the slot.
Color anti daze is mainly to facilitate production and processing, including PCBA manufacturing and pack assembly process, and reduce production line complaints and possible problems.
Requirement 2: lock button.
The connector has a locking structure. On the other hand, in order to prevent external mechanical load, it also gives users auditory and hand information to make the connector pair or separate. Here, the connectors of some manufacturers have great pull-out force after crimping the harness, so they must be pulled out with full body strength. It is investigated that the cause of hand pain is poor control of stroke length and poor hand feeling.
Requirement 3: pin length.
This refers to the pin pin of the board end connector. The charging gun interface requiring a long pin pin is the same as the socket. The requirement that the pin pin must be contacted first should be applied to contact GND and power line first, and then contact other signal lines.
For example, at the sample interface of AFE, V - and V + are first connected with AFE and contacted after other sample lines. AFE first establishes a stable power supply system to reduce the damage caused by different potentials. This demand is also practical and important.
Requirement 4: flame retardant grade v0.
As for the requirements of flame retardant connector, in order to consider the safety performance, the connector must reach ul94-v0 level. Now the manufacturer is also shifting to this direction. However, generally speaking, few connectors are selected. The board end meets V0, but the line end is Hb. Both must be V0 when selecting.
Generally, flame retardants are mixed into plastics to improve flame retardancy and prevent or delay combustion. The following figure shows the flame retardancy of commonly used plastic materials (the photo is a little fuzzy and can not be found clearly now).
Requirement 5: whether it is waterproof.
There are no uniform provisions on the waterproof requirements of the connector on the BMS. Generally, the BMS is set inside the battery pack. The pack generally requires IP67. The BMS generally does not need waterproof, and the connector is also non waterproof. The main disadvantage of waterproof connector is size and cost, especially now the cost of BOM is getting lower and lower, so it is difficult to choose waterproof connector.
The above requirements are relatively rough. It is difficult to find a suitable model when these requirements for electrical parameters play a role together. Therefore, after the final discount, it is planned to introduce the reliability of the connector, which must be prepared.
