Function and future development prospect of RF connector

2. Structure

Composition of fixed end RF connector (female contact - power socket) and free end RF connector (male contact - power plug). The power plug is generally connected to the cable, and the butt joint of the power plug and power socket is completed according to the butt joint screw cap.

Three basic elements of RF connector: shell, conductor and insulator, and contact body riveted and butted with transmission line (single take-off and delivery is easy to solve common faults).


1) Shell


It refers to the casing, connecting screw cap and tail end accessories of socket plug.


The function of the casing is to maintain the internal components of RF connector such as conductor, insulator and touch body (collectively referred to as pin socket) from being damaged. The precise positioning key slot on the top ensures the accurate positioning of the power plug and power socket. The connecting screw cap is used for butt joint and separation of the power plug base. The shell is generally made of aluminum alloy (machining, hot forging and aluminum die casting). Steel shell is mostly used for broken glass sealing welding and heat-resistant RF connector.


2) Conductors and insulators


The utility model is composed of a needle inserting conductor and an insulator, a socket inserting conductor and an insulator, an interface sealing body, a wire sealing body, etc.


Make the needle socket stable on the set position, and make each touch body and each touch body in the shell insulated from each other's electrical equipment.


The conductor and insulator plus interface sealing body and wire sealing body are used to obtain the sealing countermeasures, so as to improve the environmental resistance of RF connector.


Most conductors and insulators are made of thermosetting plastic, rubber and plastic products, and the interface sealing body and wire sealing body are made of silica gel die. It can be more integrated into the heat resistance, ultra-low temperature and flame retardancy of commodities, so as to ensure that the geometric dimensions of components are stable and reliable.


3) Touch body


The utility model is composed of a male touch body and a female touch body (also known as a needle and socket).


Welding, crimping, crimping and winding are common interface modes of touch body, and the key is to complete the docking of power circuit.


Pin socket is an important component of RF connector, which directly affects the stability of RF connector.
